Another Update

Went to the doctor yesterday and had our checkup. Everything looks good, Haven's heart rate is at ~138 which is great, and her size is just right growth-wise!! I only have one more appointment and then I start going every 2 weeks!! Man this has gone by sooo fast! :) It has been a wonderful ride so far. Can't wait to see what baby Haven looks like!

Update

Our latest baby update is from our dr. appt yesterday. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat again and this time is has slowed down a little to 142-144 BPM, but still very healthy. They also measured mama's belly and it was looking great at 18cm. All good news! :) Just truckin along at 18 weeks tomorrow and halfway there already.

Baby Bump

Here is the first picture of mama's baby bump. This is 17 weeks along. Mama and baby are doing well and excited for this week's appointment!

SURPRISE!!

Sorry all that this surprise is 2 days late...much worth the wait though (at least I think so). Drum roll please....I am proud to show the latest picture of BABY WICKELL!!!! As you hopefully can see, it is not just a bean anymore, we have a head, eye sockets, and to the left of the head, a hand and arm that goes all the way to an elbow and then on the body are 4 white dots...those are ribs!!! We are soooo excited that we really DO have a baby and not an amoeba anymore. Also, our next checkup is Oct 21st, they will measure mama's belly and check the heartbeat, and then Oct 29th the BIG ultrasound where we would get to find out the sex. Hope all are well, love the Wickell's minor. XOXOXO

Heartbeats of Miracles

Chris and I went to the doctor yesterday and got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time!! It was so neat, and a little emotional for both of us. For me it finally made all of the changes "real". I know that I feel and look different, but this was just so cool. Doc said the heartbeat was a solid 148-150 BPM and sounding healthy and strong. I was so impressed by this event that I am going to buy an at-home device to listen to the heartbeat and it even allows you to play the baby music as it gets older! Gotta love technology. :) Our next appt is on Oct 21st and then 2 weeks from then is our next ultrasound, where we MIGHT find out the sex of the baby. (We're still not sure if we want to know). When we get the heartbeat device we will try and record it and upload it on here.

Baby's Room!!

Well, this weekend Chris and I and a couple friends worked hard and got the baby's room pretty much done. We painted the walls a combo of green and brown and then I painted some polka dots and Chris put up chair rail. I am attatching some photos, but they don't do it justice. I LOVE the way it turned out, and I has even motivated Chris to want to do ours more updated. :) Other than this, not much more to update, just chugging along until the next appt in 2 weeks. I am excited that on Friday I am (hopefully) over the hump of the sick period, and I have to say it actually wasn't bad at all.

Update 8-24

Well, this is the latest picture of baby Wickell...inside of the kidney bean shaped spot (in the lower left) is an area that is a little lighter gray. That is "it". The 2 plus sign marks are the measurements, we are now 2 centimeters which is equivalent to ~3/4". I call it a grape, but I'm always relating things to food. :) Dr said all is looking great and the BPM (beats per minute) of the heart were around 134, and healthy!! Next appontment is Sept 21st and we will get to hear the heartbeat. Exciting times to come!

My Blues Are Gone

Momma is feeling much better these day, I had a bug and was put on a 24hr liquid diet. All better now, and feeling great again! So this week, baby is the size of a raspberry! All of its organs are now developing and the heart is fully functioning. Our next appt is Aug 20th where we will get to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Will keep you posted.

Feeling Blue

Today mommy is feeling a little under the weather... I think I over did it this weekend with driving and being in the sun and not sleeping well. Or, the "morning" sickness is just starting to set in. I sure hope this 2nd trimester somes soon, so I can get feeling better and get some things done for the baby's room.

Forgot to say....the baby is the white area in between the sac and the other black area to the left.

First Ultrasound

Here is the first look at our little zygote! Based on this ultrasound they assume I am 6 weeks along today, and have a due date of March 26th. Right now the baby is about 2mm small (about the size of a grain of rice). Kind of funny how such a small thing can make a person feel so different!

The Wickell's Are Pregnant!

Hello all!
I have created this blog page so that all the friends and family can keep up on baby Wickell's progress, and see new pictures as we are "under construction."
Today I am 5 weeks and 6 days along according to my first ultrasound yesterday. The Dr says everything looks normal and good so far, but it is very early. Also, no twins in there, so just one baby this time around. :)
I will attach the ultrasound picture as soon as I get it scanned in to my computer.

Thanks to all for your support and prayers, and Praise the Lord for this wonderful gift! Chris and I are both VERY excited!
